How positive are we that Casey Thompson is going to be the starting QB to begin the season?

-Jake said the other day he’d be shocked if Thompson wasn’t the guy, but Sip said not so fast. Is it really going to be an open competition in the Fall? -ESPN.com was going through their different tiers of QBs across college football, and listed Thompson, Chubba Purdy and Logan Smothers all as a battle for the starting job. They listed a few other battles but most QBs were listed with a definitive starter -What is the expectation from fans?
