How conceptual play worlds support children’s STEAM learning: part 1 - with Prof. Marilyn Fleer

29 Apr 2022

Description

Send us a textWe asked Professor Marilyn Fleer, from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia to chat with us about how conceptual play worlds support children’s STEAM learning. Marilyn was so generous with her time and the conversation with her covers a lot of ground, so we decided to break it into two episodes. In part one, we are introduced to the idea of conceptual play worlds…using what children bring to a familiar story to explore and investigate the concepts in the story. Marilyn takes us through an example using Rosie’s Walk to explore the story and introducing props and technology to deepen children’s understanding and experiences of what happens in the story.
