Ep 3: What will it take to build climate-resilient societies in India?

22 Aug 2020

Description

We’ve all been told that each of us leaves our own little footprint behind. That over many decades, our footprint on the environment has brought on a 'climate change emergency'. The impacts of our changing climate are very visible today, and extend well beyond global warming, melting glaciers and sea level rise. It affects the health of ecosystems and communities around the world, and resources we depend on – water, energy, transportation, wildlife, agriculture, ecosystems, and our own health, to name a few. These impacts are likely evolve well beyond the risks we're seeing today.  What could save us from the worst of these impacts is 'resilience'. Climate-resilient societies are built to better assess, adapt, and cope with these risks. In our third episode, we speak to two experts – climate change communications strategist Ruhie Kumar & urban resilience researcher Aditya Bahadur – about what it takes to build societies and cities in India that are resilient to climate change.
