He worked in marketing for Hyundai following his graduation from university, eventually moving on to future strategy at General Motors. Karl later worked with Energy Saving Trust, advising on low-emission transport, and then became the national EV manager at Nissan GB. He then moved on to infrastructure, working for RWE and eventually starting their energy division under Energy Renewables in the UK, which he built up and sold to Eon in 2021.
