 Banned Books Week starts Sept. 18, to Sept. 24 Publisher's Weekly describes how more books than in recent years are being banned and contested now. Banned Books Week was first launched 40 years ago. In 2021, it was the highest number of books challenged since the American Library Association began tracking books challenged. This article highlights how schools are under pressure.  This CNN article discusses how Brooklyn Public Library has handed out 5,100 digital library cards to young people across the country. In last week's episode, Lisa highlighted the top 10 most banned books of 2021.
