From 2016 to 2018, one of America's most prolific serial killers was operating around Dallas, Texas. And surprisingly, most people don't even know his name. The man in question had murdered at least 22 people within two short years. Believe it or not, nine of his victims lived within the same apartment complex. But surprisingly, he wasn't even on law enforcement's radar.

And that's because this serial killer was targeting the elderly. For two years, senior citizens around Dallas were found dead in their apartments with their expensive jewelry missing. Many of them were found in strange positions. Some had lipstick covered pillows lying next to their body. Their family members would try to tell the police about their suspicions, but it fell on deaf ears.

And because of the victim's age and lazy police work, their deaths were being ruled as accidents or natural causes. But then in 2018, a survivor came forward. And finally, the police started looking into things. Horrifically, their investigation would reveal that a serial killer had been operating right under their noses, targeting our most vulnerable population.

Within the upscale Dallas neighborhood of Preston Hollow is a senior living community called Edgemere, which caters to very wealthy senior citizens. It has many luxurious amenities like an indoor swimming pool, an area to play golf, and a luxury salon and spa. Some of the condos within this facility are listed for $1 million. So it's a place that not everyone can afford to live at.

You have to have money. Their website says, the pinnacle of senior living, an elegant setting for an extraordinary life. Amid Tuscan-inspired architecture and vibrant social gatherings, Edgemere stands as a symbol of distinguished Dallas living, which is exactly why many of the residents at Edgemere chose to live there. It's a beautiful place where they felt cared for and secure.

That is, until April 18th, 2016. Security guard Jose Allman took his job at Edgemere very seriously. Most of the time, his job duties were surveilling the area, deescalating conflicts among residents, and helping out with any emergencies. However, this day in particular had been pretty slow. That is until his phone rang. When Jose answered it, the woman on the other end was frantic.
