Kylie’s back for a brand new episode of Not Gonna Lie presented by Lovevery! She may currently be on maternity leave, but Kylie couldn’t leave the Real Ones hanging, so she taped a special episode for you to enjoy while she’s navigating the early days of being a mother of four… which very likely includes lots of outfit changes and very little sleep (1:02). Also, Kylie asks LeeAnn about all her years as a Girl Scout Troop leader alongside her daughters and how that has not only helped their confidence but also hers as she steps into the role of COO of Berty Boy Productions (26:23). Lastly, Kylie asks LeeAnn to play a game of “Is It True?” where she asks her questions about her early relationship with Bert, including whether or not they met in a bowling alley, if he really made her a mixtape (35:15) and if it’s true that they always do a date night once a week (37:45). Not gonna lie, in preparation for this episode, I was watching the new Burt Kreischer special, Lucky, on Netflix, and I had to finish watching it from the toilet so I didn't pee my pants. And that is on laughing too hard and being 39 weeks pregnant. Let's get this podcast started. Welcome back to Not Gonna Lie, a wave... I can't even say wave. I can't even fucking say wave. I'm your host, Kylie Kelsey, Philly food scene hype woman, occasional clap backer, and I've officially started maternity leave. If you watched last week's postpartum episode or... Doomscrolled your social media platform of choice. You're probably aware. I had the baby. Speaking of, what do we end up naming her?
Is she another clone of Jason? And how much did she weigh? Because that could get dicey. I wonder if she dethroned Ellie. I hope not. I feel like as a middle child, you should at least be able to be the biggest. Have something. I ask because in the spirit of complete honesty, as always, this intro I'm currently taping is prerecorded. I'm actually 39 weeks pregnant at the time of this taping.
It's my belly. You can't even see it that way. Hold on, microphone. Do you see the turkey timer is out? You see that? That's your belly button when you're making a turkey on Thanksgiving and the little plastic timer pops up to say it's done. So get the fuck out. We're ready. I think.
But even though this is prerecorded, I can tell you a few things about what my life is very likely looking like right now. Probably not sleeping that much. Probably have to change my shirt a lot. If you know, you know. Now I might be on maternity leave, but I couldn't leave the real ones hanging. So we've got a great show for you guys.
You can tell I'm still pregnant because trying to stand up to show you my belly got me out of breath. Coming up on this special maternity leave episode, I doom-scrolled my way to one of the most Philly food combinations I've ever laid my eyes on, and I've got some thoughts.
Then you're going to hear my conversation with a friend of mine and another woman I have no business speaking to, comedy producer, mother, and host of the hit podcast, Wife of the Party, Leanne Kreischer. But before you hear that conversation, I figured I'd do a maternity leave edition to of ask me some things. Because ask me anything needed some boundaries.
Because you couldn't control yourselves. From Tristan on TikTok, Kylie, you got Michelle? How do you keep your cool? My jaw would be an anvil on the floor. First of all, Tristan, the editing team behind Not Gonna Lie did me a solid. I had to wipe my upper lip sweat multiple times, multiple times. A lot of fans were shocked that we got Michelle Obama. Girls, same.
Guys, I still can't wrap my head around it. I fear that you guys think that I'm kidding when I emphasize that I have no business speaking to the people that I get to speak to. Sometimes I genuinely think I'm living in an alternate universe of like, is this happening? I was very nervous to speak to Mrs. Obama. I am... so incredibly grateful that she was able to come on.
