This episode is sponsored by 5-Hour Energy. 5-Hour Energy has a new flavor out. It's called Spicy Cinco de Mango. Yes, a spicy 5-Hour Energy shot, and it's only available at 5hourenergy.com. They just sent me a case of this stuff to try. I popped open a bottle, gave it a little taste test. It is legitimately spicy, also a little sweet, but mainly spicy, which is a very unique flavor palette.
When it comes to 5-Hour Energies, I'd say by far the most unique flavor they have put out. And I consider myself to be a connoisseur. I already was a 5-Hour Energy connoisseur before, but now I have a ton of it in my office thanks to the fine folks at 5-Hour Energy. So I'm set for a while. Honestly...
I have at least 750 hours worth of energy on my shelf right now if you added up all these bottles. So get energized and spicy. 5-Hour Energy Spicy Cinco de Mango Shot is here for you. 5-Hour Energy Spicy Cinco de Mango is only available online for a limited time. If someone had told Charles and Melanie that after their Tinder match, they would start a channel with crazy tasks together. So really crazy. Spend five days on a lonely island, crawl down a zip line on a belt, crack one million views, climb a wall with a lot of buttons, and jump a parachute in Egypt? They would never have believed that. But that's the thing with Tinder.
It takes you to places you would never have expected. Wherever it takes you. It starts with a swipe. Tinder.
Welcome to Otherworld. I'm your host, Jack Wagner. This is part two of The Reader. If you haven't heard part one, you should go back and listen to that first. In the last episode, we met Jennifer. In the early 2000s, she was a teacher working with an autistic student named Jamie. Jamie had a physical disability that affected her tongue and her ability to speak.
Because of that, she often used a computer that she would type on to communicate. But otherwise, Jamie was able to do most things on her own. As they got to know each other, it seemed like Jennifer and Jamie had a lot in common. It seemed even like Jamie was almost reading Jennifer's mind.
Things took an extreme turn one afternoon in the library when Jamie seemed to enter a trance-like state and began giving messages to Jennifer from her father, who died at sea when she was a little girl. Jamie mentioned extremely specific things that only her dad would know and things that Jennifer didn't even know.
Despite Jennifer's attempts to focus Jamie on schoolwork and their normal education, this continued to happen as time went on and would abruptly interrupt their study sessions.
