16 Jun 2023
(00:00-26:50) – The Fan Midday Show opens on a Friday with Brian Noe and Jimmy Cook discussing the news that came down an hour before the start of the show with Ja Morant being suspended 25 games without pay. They debate if it wasn’t enough or just right when you factor in the financials. Plus, they revisit their thoughts after the first time it happened. (26:50-41:52) – Netflix revealed a trailer for their upcoming docuseries “Quarterback” featuring Patrick Mahomes, Kirk Cousins, and Marcus Mariota resulting in Brian, Jimmy, and producer Eddie Garrison discussing which three quarterback’s they could have chosen for the first season of the docuseries now that we know what we know from the 2022 NFL season. (41:52-46:15) – Last night the Kansas City Chiefs unveiled their Super Bowl rings, which leads to Brian questioning why they needed so many diamonds on the run. As expected, Jimmy provides a detailed break down as to why the Chiefs went with over 600+ diamonds. (46:15-1:12:59) – ESPN College Basketball Analyst and former Denver Nugget LaPhonso Ellis joins the Fan Midday Show with Brian Noe and Jimmy Cook to discuss what it was like to witness the Nuggets capturing the NBA Finals earlier in the week, which prospect he really likes in the upcoming NBA Draft that the Pacers should target, why he believes Jalen Hood-Schifino’s game will translate better in the NBA compared to college, and what Ja Morant needs to do before he can get back on the basketball court. (1:17:31-1:25:24) – Earlier the show, Brian teased a conversation where he and Jimmy would select three players that they could ship off to the NFC from the AFC South. The lists may surprise you because of a name that was left off the list that has been a dominate force in the division for years. (1:25:24-1:32:24) – The one o’clock hour concludes with Brian and Jimmy discussing Stephen A. Smith throwing his name into the hat to become the new host of Wheel of Fortune with Pat Sajak announcing his retirement after this upcoming season after 41 years as the host of the show. (1:32:24-1:57:35) – Fox Sports Radio’s Aaron Torres joins Brian and Jimmy on the Fan Midday Show to detail how fun it was watching Aaron Gordon’s role over the course of the playoffs for the Denver Nuggets that helped them win the NBA Finals, what he thinks of the schedule models for the SEC and Big Ten moving forward with all the movement of teams, his opinion on the suspension the NBA gave Ja Morant, and dives into some of the prospects that are after the top five players on the board. (2:11:14-2:09:46) – MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred joined the Dan Patrick Show and discussed the future of robo umps, which makes Eddie explode because he thinks it would ruin the game. Additionally, Jimmy and Brian discuss a story written by Marcus Thompson about the reverse boycott that the Athletic’s did Tuesday night. (2:09:46-2:13:28) – We close out today’s show with Brian revisiting something that Jimmy said earlier in the show and the JCook Plays of the Day!Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
