On today's episode, Dennis speaks with retired LEO, Health Coach & Public Speaker, Emily Henderson. In April 2020, Emily fought for my life as a police officer, and in the fight, she sustained a traumatic brain injury and broke all the bones in her dominate hand. Within her recovery, she became suicidal thinking that her life was over because, βall she was ever good at was being a cop.β By the grace of God, she remembered my Crisis Intervention Training and applied it to herself. She realized she had hit her capacity of knowing how to cope with my current situation and was convinced she deserved better. From that moment forward, Emily put her health in mind, body, and finances first and reinvented herself from the ground up. That decision let to her to becoming a health coach and building a team to help others reinvent themselves, many of whom wear similar uniforms as she did. Today, Emily shares her story of the incident that led her to retire, coping with her physical and mental injuries, her purpose as a health coach and public speaker, breaking the stigma of mental health in law enforcement and being a leader in life and in law enforcement.
