Good morning and welcome to the NBA Daily for December 31st, 2024. Coming up, the Cleveland Cavaliers keep on rolling and the Warriors are struggling. We get Sam Amick on the show to talk about Mike Brown and the Sacramento Kangs. And then S has some wild stats about LeBron to celebrate his birthday. Good morning, everybody. Good morning, S. We had ourselves a Monday night in the NBA last night.
We had blowouts. We had some marquee matchups that just didn't pan out. You know, typical Monday. Case of the Mondays. All good. Yeah, we're back. This is our last show of the year, S. Congratulations on both of us not getting fired before the calendar switches to January. So I'll take that as a win. No show tomorrow, folks. Just get that over with. Let you guys know no show tomorrow.
We're going to have the night off, hopefully spending dinner with our families and not a bunch of people. Let's talk a little bit of hoops because the Cleveland Cavaliers are on a historic start to the season. They're now 28 and four after just destroying the Warriors last night. And it's become kind of old hat watching them.
I feel like and shout out to Zena because she has trusted the Cavs longer than I have. I feel like every single game, I just trust them a little bit more. This one, they hold the warriors to 11 points in the second quarter. And then they exploded offensively in the third. And look, they've just got every single gear you need to be a championship contender.
I think it's time to just, we're penciling them in. This is a conference finalist. I think the road to the finals in the East, I think it's Boston and it's Cleveland and no one else is close.
And especially because Boston has looked a little bit more human as of late, you know, over the last month. And so that indestructible scheme feels a little bit more destructible. And now you have this very, very worthy opponent in the Cavaliers that are firing on all cylinders.
Like the way that they exploded offensively against the Warriors and then what they did to the Nuggets the other night, it was surgical offensively. Darius Garland was out there just carving everybody up. And then, you know, once Garland kind of switches off, it's Donovan Mitchell taking over the show and absolutely feasting. The three point shooting from both of those guys is incredible.
