Good morning and welcome to the NBA Daily for December 4th, 2024. Coming up, the NBA Cup group play is over. We are heading on to the knockout round. We've got Marcus Thompson on to talk about the Warriors and their loss to the Nuggets. And Zena and I are going to give our thoughts on the conference finals favorites. Zena, the Toronto WNBA team name leaked today. What do you think about the tempo?
Leave it to the Caribbeans in Toronto to know there's nothing scarier than staying on rhythm.
Good morning, everybody. Good morning, Zena. The NBA Cup group play is now over as of last night. The knockout rounds all said, you know, what would you think about the NBA Cup this year? It's year two. You know, I felt like it was pretty competitive.
I thought it was too. I was disappointed with some of the games last night. Lots of blowouts. However, overall, you're seeing an elevated level of play. You're seeing teams run the score up. You're seeing players staying in the game in the fourth quarter to ensure that they got that score up. So overall, everyone's just like bought in.
My favorite thing is that last night, all of the hand wringing over Tom Thibodeau playing his guys too much went out the window. We're all rooting. Oh, can they win by 36 points instead of 37? They were in this, the Knicks, you know, they, they win the game over the magic last night. Let's just jump into it. They win this game. Sure.
over the magic last night and they went by quite a bit, but not enough to get the one seed in the East and Zena, I'm going to eat you to lay this out, but I want to set up the scenario here because the Knicks were looking for this Goldilocks zone sort of winning score so that they could take the one seed, but not allow Boston to win the wild card and thus give them a game against the Boston Celtics.
So I, the, the, sort of behind the scenes point differential play. I mean, it was a great night. I really loved it. Zena, you've got the list in front of you. What does the breakdown look like? Give me the East and give me the West.
