Anthony Davis traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
It's a three-team deal. My head is spinning just trying to wrap my brain around everything that has happened right now. It's incredible to think about this. I'll just break down the trade before we get into this. So the Lakers receive Luka Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markeith Morris. Okay.
The Mavericks receive Anthony Davis, Max Christie, a 2029 Lakers first, and then the Jazz receive Jalen Hood-Shavino, a 2025 Clippers second, and a bunch of whatever. Anyways. How do you guys feel? Instant reactions. Because I'm just – I'm speechless. We're supposed to do a podcast, but I'm still speechless about this entire situation.
I'm laughing that you couldn't – I'm just laughing that you couldn't even get the trade out clearly. Like you even were like in disbelief as you were listing it out. And I feel that that's – it's one of those – I was literally on my way back home from a baby shower. Then we went to dinner and – I said it out loud to my boyfriend, who is a huge Lakers fan. And I go, Anthony Davis just left.
He's gone. And he's like, you're joking. You're effing joking. I was like, no, no. For Luka Doncic. I mean, we could have pulled the car over. He was like, there's no way. There's no way. I'm like scrolling. It's one of those unbelievable moments. I'll say this last thing too. As I'm scrolling through Twitter to figure out what the heck is going on.
I'm Blue Sky trying to figure out what is going on. I see David Aldridge's tweet. Did you guys see it? What David Aldridge just tweeted? I feel like it's worth reading out, but David Aldridge is historic, right? He's covered a lot of the NBA for so many years. I'll read exactly his tweet. Quote,
Deals, free agent signings, coach hirings and firings rises to the level of, as the great Ben Bradley used to call them, holy shit stories. You just get used to the unexpected. This is a holy shit trade. Nothing shakes David Aldridge. This is shaking him.
