Good morning and welcome to the NBA Daily for November 22nd, 2024 coming up. We've got new all-star format coming and we're going to get into that. We've got Minnesota losing a game that they absolutely should not. We're going to get into what's bothering them. Yovan Buha stops by to talk about the Lakers right after they lose to the Magic because the NBA Daily curse is real, folks.
Good morning, everybody. Good morning, Zena. Not a great morning for the Minnesota Timberwolves, though. They dropped a game last night that they definitely should have won. The Toronto Raptors are not a good basketball team. I'm not sure if they're a tanking team necessarily, but they are in the tank race for sure. And the Raptors won the game 110-105.
It was pretty close, but this is the sort of game, Zena, that a team with the expectations of the Minnesota Timberwolves, even with the entire trade happening right before the season started. This is just not the sort of game you expect them to lose. And yet, here we are, 15 games into the season, and this is exactly the sort of game that they keep losing week in, week out.
I see a lot of fans kind of losing it a little bit. I see a lot of fans saying the words, Minnesota is bad. Minnesota lost the trade. And to that, I'll say... Maybe it's early and the stats don't meet the eye test and I get what they're seeing in the game against Toronto. You saw this inconsistency in the chemistry of this team.
You saw Rudy being chewed out by Ant Edwards after getting a three second violation because he had his player sealed down in the post and Julius Randle didn't give him the ball. I understand the frustration from Rudy's side as a big girl, but I also understand the hesitation on Julius Randle's side from being a guard trying to pass into a post player that sometimes can bobble the ball.
It was just a lot of, again, inconsistency in how they mesh on the court. And when they're doing well, you see them running in tandem. Julius, Anthony Edwards, they're playing well on the perimeter or inside in the mid-range, going to the basket. When they're not playing well, it is evident. The stagnancy, the just lack of vision on the court, it all becomes so apparent.
