Good morning and welcome to the NBA Daily. Coming up, the Wolves had a crazy comeback last night, so we had to get John Krasinski on to talk about it. The Sixers quit last night, so Zena and I have to talk about the Sixers again. And the Pistons are streaking winning their seventh straight game. Zena, did you know that you could buy Woj's phone that he broke the COVID shutdown news on?
How much is it going for? Apparently $1,500, but I do not think that it gets security updates, so you probably can't. Good morning, everybody. Good morning, Zena. Another night, another embarrassing performance for the Sixers. Just. Zena, is it good to lose to the Bulls who are not necessarily trying to win? And I mean, obviously, this is rhetorical, but is it good to lose by 32 points?
Awful, awful game for the Sixers. They lost to the Bulls last night, 142 to 110. And my big takeaway, Zena, this team kind of looked like it quit last Last night on Nick Nurse, on the Sixers. I mean, there's just, it feels as if maybe Nick Nurse has kind of lost the locker room a little bit.
Yeah, there's just been so many aspects of this team piling up. Of course, we all know about the Joel Embiid issues. We've talked about the fact that Paul George just joined back into this mix, and they should have been playing together all season long and building this chemistry. Even last night, Yabusella gets hurt and goes to the back room. I mean, there's been so many factors at play, but...
Now you're starting to see a loss of not just chemistry out on the court, but really belief in what's going on. There were so many plays in which the Sixers were disconnected. They felt as if they were talking on defense. People weren't moving their feet. I mean, it looked like the Sixers realize the situation they're in and they're like 20 games only won this season. We're way under 500.
What are the chances we're going to be in the play-in? Maybe we mail it in.
Yeah. I mean, you start hearing the chatter and it's, The Sixers need to try to tank to keep their pick. Yeah. Right. I imagine as a player, that's got to be pretty tough to go through. You know, they they spend the summer. They bring in Paul George thinking they've got this big three. And it just has never come to fruition through, you know, for health reasons.
Obviously, it's like this team has been, as we said yesterday, completely snakebitten.
Imagine if you're Joel Embiid and you've been putting all of your effort to try and get back on the court. You've been playing through this inflammation. You've been playing through this pain. Imagine if you're Tyrese Maxey, who in the absence of Joel Embiid and Paul George was burdening 40 something minutes, a quarterback.
