If you're watching it and not listening, and my nose starts bleeding, it's because I just shaved and I cut my nostril. So if we start bleeding, you guys got to let me know so I know to stop it. But the reality of that statement is, is that I won't be able to hear you guys tell me if my nose is bleeding because I'm recording this right now.

But would love for you guys to come out. It's going to be awesome. It's going to be a powerful night. So come on out January 19th at 6 p.m. here in Los Angeles. Get your tickets at jesusinthestreet.org slash tickets. Now, let's jump down into chapter 19. See what we got going on. He entered Jericho and was passing through, and behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus.

He was a chief tax collector and was rich. Now, it seems to me that Jesus was going out of his way into Jericho just for Zacchaeus. And he's not just any tax collector. He's the chief tax collector. He's the big dog. He would be the most hated tax collector in the entire city. because he's the chief tax collector, and he was seeking to see who Jesus was.

93.333 - 114.952 Bryce Crawford

But on account of the crowd, he could not because he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was about to pass that way. Now, Zacchaeus risked embarrassment to climb up in this tree to see Jesus. And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up and said, Zacchaeus, hurry up, come down, for I must stay at your house today.

115.312 - 132.003 Bryce Crawford

Notice how Jesus just isn't in the business of converting him and then keep it on his way. He's interested in building a relationship with Zacchaeus. So he hurried down, came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all grumbled. He has gone in to be a guest of a man who is a sinner.

132.744 - 153.694 Bryce Crawford

So people were frustrated that Jesus, once again, was hanging out with a tax collector who was deemed a sinner and an outcast. And Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will restore it fourfold. So now Zacchaeus, through the power and conviction of Jesus Christ, he has repented.

154.234 - 168.529 Bryce Crawford

And he said, You know what? I'm going to give away half of my goods, and the other half I'm just going to restore everyone I've ever done wrong. And Jesus said to him, today salvation has come into this house because he has recognized the repentant heart of Zacchaeus, since he also is the son of Abraham.
