01 Apr 2025

Description

Navigating friendships can be a roller-coaster, but Candace, Allie, and Natasha are here to guide you through it. In this episode of Season 9, "Girls Under Pressure," they explore the essence of friendship and the journey of finding friends who may or may not share your faith. Real-life stories and personal experiences reveal the challenges and joys of growing through diverse relationships. Do you find yourself struggling with friendships or looking to deepen your connections?  As Candace reflects on her long-lasting friendships with people who hold different beliefs, the conversation goes into finding common ground, respecting differences, and fostering deep connections. Allie and Natasha share their own journeys, sharing experiences on balancing faith, friendship, and respect in a world that often divides. Actionable Takeaway: Reflect on your current friendships. Are they encouraging your growth? Consider how you can be a source of light and support to those around you, regardless of differing beliefs. Listener Question: Julia asks, "What do you do for a freshman navigating high school without any Christian friends?"  Remember, life is better when we go through it together! Oh man, I remember a time, Natasha, because you didn't bring friends over very often. Well, I had none. But you did bring a group of friends and I think it was your birthday. Yeah, this haunts me. There was an immediate detection that a couple of the people there were just not great, not good eggs. I literally never spoke to them after that day.

I'm excited. Thanks. I'm glad that you're back. And this week we are talking about friendships. Having friends in general, but also, and more specifically, having friends who aren't like us, who don't maybe think like us, who don't share our faith, maybe culturally just come from different places. So let's dive into it. Tell me about your friends. How did you pick your friends?

So for me growing up, I don't know about you, Natasha, but I did not have any friends. If you look at my friend group right now, I would say it's literally my family and God's put a couple of people in my life now that I'm super thankful for. But I was always kind of looking and searching for that friend group growing up. And, you know, as I got older, I realized that was a lot of people's story.

139.581 - 143.223 Allie Schnacky

So if you're like that and you're listening to this, it was you too.

143.263 - 143.443 Natasha Bure

Yeah.

144.003 - 167.951 Allie Schnacky

Yeah. I don't know why. And what was crazy about it is I was friends with everyone, but I never really belonged anywhere. Yeah. If that made sense. I knew a ton of people, but when I really needed someone to talk to, I literally had nobody. Um, and of course I had my family, but at this point my family was not like all together. Everyone was kind of doing their own things. I was in high school.

167.991 - 175.977 Allie Schnacky

My dad and my brother were in LA pursuing what they felt the Lord called them to. And so our family was a little dispersed and it made it a little hard, but
