In Waukegan, Illinois, the board of education decided that Thomas Jefferson Middle School can no longer keep its name because Jefferson owned slaves. Renaming the school after our first black president, Barack Obama, seemed like an obvious choice to appease progressives. Alas, his immigration policy has come back to haunt him, as Latino activists protested renaming the school after him due to the record deportations of immigrants on his watch.
