How's it going? My name is Megan and I am 36 and I need to end my emotional affair. What do you mean by emotional affair? I have developed a close relationship with a friend that initially started as a working relationship. So professional relationship. And then over time, we just became closer and closer and have definitely grown.
bordered uh past the friendship level uh and he is in a long-term committed relationship okay you're in your relationship status is i am single okay okay so this started you you work with this person uh i worked with him in a certain capacity we no longer uh work together professionally gotcha uh does that have anything to do with the relationship or is that just Nope.
It was a transactional thing. So the work part of it was done and then we still maintained a friendship. Okay. And I guess what part are you struggling with?
The actual letting go of the situation. You know, all of my friends or people that I talk to about this situation are like, he's treating you very disrespectfully. He's not being respectful to his relationship. Just end it, walk away. But I still want to have him in my life in some type of capacity. And I've tried to do that. Yeah. But different things keep happening.
Different situations keep happening where, you know, people get upset or a situation goes a little too far. And, you know, it just is not it's not serving me anymore. But I can't seem to be like, bye, I'm never going to speak to you again. Do you have feelings for this individual? Oh, yes. 100%. Well, that's the why.
Yeah. When I know that he has feelings for me as well, but obviously he is in a relationship. So he married.
No, he just has a girlfriend.
