I feel like a lot of things that were said online are really taken out of context and are used to dramatize and sensationalize the case a lot more than I think it should be. It's a case where there's a lot of clickbaity titles and I can see why a lot of people find it interesting and I can see why so many people spoke on it the way that they did.

I even found some podcasts and a couple other videos and just articles in general that covered this case in a way that I just personally didn't really like. But we don't do that on this channel. Call it boring, but here we talk about the victim. We talk about the facts of the case.

We talk about what happened and what may have led up to it happening based on the facts and not wild theories or social media posts taken out of context. We respect the victim. We don't make clickbait headlines that disrespect the victim or her life or how she died. We don't make the videos or the titles about the person who committed the crime like so many news outlets do.

We only talk about the person as much as we need to. So with all of that being said, let's get into today's case. Today, we are going to be discussing the tragic murder of Alexa Cannon. Alexa Cannon was born July 17, 1998 and grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. She attended Patrick Henry High School in 2016 and was described as being a popular girl and very loved by her peers.

She played volleyball and loved photography. A friend described her as being a very sweet person with an uplifting personality and a gentle smile. She has two sisters, Emmy and Chloe, who she absolutely adored. Her mother went on to tell this story about how when Alexa was younger, she gave her mother a blue handkerchief and told her to use it when she got scared.

Blue was her favorite color and this was just something so small and sweet that she remembered about Alexa when she was little. Alexa went to Radford University to study psychology and wanted to do whatever she could to help others. In addition to this, she loved everything about music and art and especially interior design. She had a talent for organizing just about anything.

On her first day of school, she had sent her dad a photo of her coordinated outfit, saying that she's so excited to get ready to go for her first day of school. Alexa was also a devout Christian attending Second Presbyterian Church. She went to different service trips with her church and those who attended those trips with her said that she just brought tons of energy.

She went on two missions trips to the Dominican Republic and was looking forward to a study abroad experience in Spain so that she could learn and practice her Spanish. Her pastor said, quote, quote, she overcame a good number of challenges in her own life. Alexa was diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age, and she dealt with that issue her whole life.
