Hello everyone, my name is Rachel and welcome back to my channel. So the case that I have for you guys today is one that I am very conflicted on. I could see how people believe both sides and I definitely think that you guys are going to have very strong beliefs about this case on both sides. But as with any case, please make sure to be respectful in the comments.
I'm covering this case to help spread awareness and help figure out what really happened in this case. This is not intended to spread hate or negativity against anybody involved, so please, if you have any negative comments, please keep them to yourself.
I usually don't feel the need to make these kind of comments, but after one of my recent videos, a lot of people reached out to members of the family and made baseless and wild accusations and I was really disappointed. I know that it's a very, very small amount of you guys that do that, but it happened and it made me really, really upset.
Some of you may know the video that I'm talking about, some of you may not, but I ended up having to delete over 200 comments just because of the negativity that was being spread. So this is just a reminder that no matter how you feel about anybody involved in this case or any case, please don't reach out to anybody involved unless it's to say kind words of support.
And please, with any case, any true crime video, think before you comment. Let's get into today's case. Today, we are going to be discussing the deaths of Nicole Olson, Alexa Montez, and London Brubiscus. Nicole Olson was born May 27, 1981, to her parents Rick Carl and McSheryl Olson, and by all accounts, Nicole had a pretty rough time growing up.
Nicole was an absolute daddy's girl when she was younger. Her dad worked for a construction company out of San Antonio, but when Nicole was only seven years old, her father died of a heroin overdose just two days before Christmas in 1988. Of course, this absolutely devastated Nicole and her mother.
After this, Nicole went on to describe her mother as a functional alcoholic who drank over the years to numb the pain from the loss of her husband. Nicole went on to become a young mother, giving birth to her first son, Skylar, when she was 15 years old. She dropped out of high school her junior year, later going on to obtain her GED.
When she was 16 years old, she married Skylar's father, James, but they divorced a year later. By the time Nicole was 20 years old, her mother died unexpectedly the day after Christmas. Again, this was absolutely devastating. Her mother left behind Nicole's 13-year-old brother, so now she had the responsibility not only of taking care of her own baby, but her younger brother as well.
At this time, Nicole just held a bunch of different low-paying jobs just trying to make money and keep the food on the table for her son and her brother. Also around when she was 20 years old, she got married to another man named Carlos, and by 2002, their daughter Alexa was born. Carlos was a Marine, so the family had lived in Hawaii for a period of time before the couple got a divorce in 2006.
