Mary and Martha were sisters, but were very different people. Mary recognized that Jesus would only be with them for a brief time, and so she chose to place all of her attention upon Jesus by sitting at His feet. Jesus gently rebuked Martha that she had let the worries and anxieties of life become distractions. May we never be so distracted that we fail to see that Jesus is right in our midst, wanting to spend time with us.
