Twitter @juangangel For the second time, the 49th National Palm Growers Congress was held in its virtual format, with the participation of representatives of the palm oil agroindustry from different regions of the country. The event also commemorated the 30th anniversary of Cenipalma, an organization that has distinguished itself as one of the most recognized institutions in oil palm research in Colombia and around the world. The oil palm is an oilseed crop that has spread worldwide thanks to its high production potential. Compared to other oilseed crops, its oil yield per hectare, which averages around 3.7 tons, exceeds traditional oilseeds such as soybeans, rapeseed, sunflowers, and olives, seeds that are currently seeking to increase this oil yield per hectare cultivated through the application of biotechnology.
