Every year, during the months of November and December, when summer begins, many cattle ranchers in the highlands of departments such as Sucre and Córdoba in Colombia seek a better supply of forage that guarantees the well-being of their animals. Livestock transhumance continues to be the main option for ranchers in this part of the country to maintain their animals during the winter and summer seasons. According to figures from the Federation of Cattle Ranchers of Sincé (Fegasincé), it is estimated that between 200,000 and 300,000 cattle have been moved from this municipality in recent months in search of better forage.
