TV AGRO

Producción de gusano de Seda en Bali, Indonesia - TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel Restrepo

30 Aug 2025

Description

Twitter @juangangel Sericulture, or sericulture, consists of raising the Bombyx mori worm species for silk production. It originated in China around 2460 BC. It is a very ancient tradition in East Asia, where this lepidopteran has been bred to obtain the fibers used in the production of silk fabrics. Sutera Sari Segara Agrotourism was established 10 years ago. It is a place for silkworm farming, but also for those who want to learn more about this fiber. Each month, it is visited by around 1,000 people, mostly local students and some tourists who are equally interested in learning about the cultivation, thread production, and weaving of this material.
