Look around you. Sehen Sie, wie nichts davon Sinn macht. Sehen Sie, wie es mehr Fragen gibt als Antworten. Sehen Sie, wie jeder Schritt immer mehr isoliert und enttäuscht von Intentionalität fühlt, ohne irgendeine bedeutende Trajectorie. Wir nehmen das, drücken es für einen Moment und hören. Because underneath, just underneath, there exists perhaps the most valuable undertaking of your life.
That's right, the deserts of life, the valleys of despair, those chapters of wandering, they are what make you, what define you. The little trick life plays though, is that you can't see that value until you're removed from it.
Just like a fish has no idea it's in water, water is the only existence the fish has ever known, you are moving through the most important, valuable, precious season of your life. Disguised as, you guessed it, the least important and least valuable season of your life. I was recently at a lunch with some folks in the Phoenix area.
Ein Freund meines sagte etwas, das ich seitdem die Worte aus seinem Mund gelassen sind, nicht mehr stoppen konnte. Er war ein paar Säden runter und in der Mitte einer Geschichte, aber ich konnte es überhören. Mein Instinkt, als ich das hörte, war, zu lachen. Ich dachte, da sind wir. Ein bisschen von dem New England-Sarkasmus hier in der Wüste. Und ich lache und schaue rüber. Und er lacht nicht. In Wahrheit war ich der Einzige, der am Tisch lacht. Und die Lichter gehen auf und es ist so, oh, mein Typ ist ernst. Und er war es.
Er geht weiter darüber, dass er sich für den Reset dankbar ist und wie er sich darauf freut, wieder da draußen zu sein und sich wieder zu bauen. Der Junge ist unglaublich gut, was er macht, das kann ich mir nur vorstellen. Aber du kannst sehen, wie... Das wäre schrecklich zu hören. Es ist einfach so anders als die Norm. Besonders in einem einfachen Diskurs. Und was für eine Perspektive.
Wie wunderschön, richtig? The things we can take from our low point. The gold we can extract from our struggle. The value is there. That's objectively true. The challenge is the choice we're given. Whether or not we see it. Choose to see it. Whether the adversity wrecks you or transforms you. Whether it becomes something meaningful or whether it kind of subtly slips away unnoticed.
