The National Immigration Advocacy Group, COSECHA, says detainees inside the private prison run by GEO Group have been on a hunger strike since last month.

My amendment would reopen the office, giving it full funded, and would give it teeth to provide oversight of private corporations like the GEO Group, who taxpayers are giving over a billion dollars to run our immigration system.

And GEO Group, which runs Adelanto, calls the allegations of retaliation baseless.
