It's one of my favorite Jimmy Carr bits where he was like, you know, in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, they closed down all the insane asylums.
And America didn't run out of crazy.
We just have free-range crazy now.
We have farm-to-table crazy.
They didn't go anywhere.
And we've almost doubled the population since, God, I forget what year we had like half the population, but it's like 50s.
And it's like we still have more crazy people.
But they're basically just homeless.
Yeah, it's fucked up.
But it was mean to keep them locked up in an asylum.
You know, that was the mean part.
Well, that's, I mean, it's like my family has group homes for people that are, you know, retarded, you know, developmentally disabled now, whatever.
Um, and when, like, there's a program that the government, that they used to have where you could pay people with a developmental disability, less than minimum wage and people, and they got rid of it.
And there are, somebody's trying to get rid of it or they got rid of it or something.
I saw a post on Facebook.
It used to be a thing, yeah.
It was a thing in the early 2000s.
Like, it was still a thing in the early 2000s.
I think they got rid of it in, like, 2010 or something.
Anyways, and people were like, I don't see how they could do that.
