We had asked state police for comments before. We had asked the State Police Union for comments before, and they all said they were withholding comment until after trial. So it certainly seemed like if heads were going to roll, that was going to happen once the trial ended. So I think the timing upset some people and also maybe the lack of real speed and accountability.

What the defense is obfuscating from is the overwhelming evidence that was presented to this grand jury from a multitude of sources, 42 separate witnesses, 56 exhibits, over 1,400 pages of transcripts, which clearly demonstrate and indicate that the defendant, Karen Reed, killed John O'Keefe.

Council wants to say that the Commonwealth is asking the court or everybody to sort of look the other way when it comes to these things. What I would submit is that's exactly what the defendant is doing. Look the other way, defense by obfuscation.
