But, you know, if you look at Apple, for example, its wearables division had sales of more than $36.5 billion last year.
That would include the Apple Watch and its AirPods, which again are kind of classes, wearables.
It does include other products like home speakers and some accessories and so on.
But in revenue terms, it's bigger than iPads and Macs for Apple, that division of the company.
Of growing importance to Meta as well.
So they sold 7 million Meta Ray-Bans last year, up from 2 million in 2024.
And they're really pushing the content made with them on the likes of Facebook and Instagram.
They really obviously want to push this kind of product forward.
But however you measure it, it's definitely growing rapidly.
One projection I saw predicted the market would be worth half a trillion by 2035.
And that's in part because you have all these companies pushing out more and more products.
Meta recently unveiled new smart glasses.
Google announced it was re-entering the smart glasses field.
Apple rumoured to be working on a pair that may be unveiled officially in September.
So lots more to come in that area.
Yeah, and I mean, obviously, it's long been possible to covertly record other people, especially since the creation of the video phone and the smartphone.
But this technology really makes it easier because it's gotten so small, it can fit a camera into what looked like pretty much a regular glasses frame.
At a glance, it's very hard to distinguish them from smart glasses, from regular glasses.
With the likes of, say, the Meta Ray-Bans, they have a little LED that comes on when something is being recorded.
They say the camera stops functioning if you cover that light up, but even still not going to be easy to spot, you know, especially at a glance and especially say on a sunny day, it might be hard to see that light as well.
