Schlittler right now is second in terms of odds to win the American League's Cy Young.
That's how good he's been this season, and yet he gets out-dueled by your Savage.
The great Dan Schulman paid a visit to MLB Network yesterday, and I watched Dan on MLB Central, and they were talking about the matchup, and he said, with Garcia Savage, he said he told me he still hasn't had his A stuff yet, and that's with a 1.7 ERA.
Well, he brought his A game last night, season-high, 95 pitches, striking out Judge, big up out in the 6th.
It looks fantastic.
And as Shulman mentioned, as you guys know, Savage throws almost overhand.
It's crazy.
That arm slot when you're watching it.
Most guys, if the three of us just throw a baseball around, it's naturally a little bit of three-quarters.
But he is so overhand.
The way the ball just topples down on you.
It's such a challenge for hitters.
even guys as big and strong as Aaron Judge.
So as long as your Savage is going, this Blue Jays team is going to be fun to watch.
And I do think the Savage-Gossman-Seas, that trio is phenomenal.
It's the other questions, notably Jose Barrios now out with Tommy John.
That's where there's going to be some concerns.
Well, it's interesting because if you'd said to me, you know, first manager to get fired, I wouldn't have thought of Rob Thompson or Alex Cora.
Two of the more longer-tenured, well-respected guys in the game.
So what that means to me is if those two guys are fallible, then anybody is vulnerable.
