We're going to put a bookmark in Oilers Now's Road to the Cup, and when we come back, we'll have a conversation with the athletics Joe Smith from Minnesota.
3-17 in oil country.
Joe Smith, powered by Friesen Brothers, celebrate every Oilers victory with their famous gooey cinnamon buns because a sweet win on the ice deserves a sweet treat at the table.
The Edmonton Oilers falling yesterday three games to two.
The Minnesota Wild winning three games to two over the Dallas Stars, and they advance to play the Colorado Avalanche in the next round.
Joe Smith is from The Athletic.
He writes on The Wild, and, well, I had a conversation with him earlier today.
All right, here joined by the Athletics' Joe Smith.
Joe, how are you doing today?
Doing well.
How about yourself?
I'm good, I'm good.
I mean, we've obviously had better days in oil country for sure, but on your side of things and many, it's looking real good moving on to the next round, first time since 2015.
I mean, just take me through what you saw through that series.
No, that's the road to the playoffs for sure.
I want to ask you about Jesper Wallstedt because, you know, he came into this season as a rookie and just dominated from start to finish, and now he looks like the goalie you can rely on in the postseason.
So what have you seen from him?
For sure.
I got to talk about the defense because this Minnesota team managed to hold Dallas to under three goals in two games, or not two games, in four games rather.
And it's just, it's really impressive because you think about the stars that Dallas simply had up front and, you know, the ran by Glenn Gullitson, a guy who's pretty offensive driven.
