She had a helmet on, a ballistic helmet.
a ball-proof vest, press written on the front and on the back, and was hit in the gap between the sort of neck protector of the vest she was wearing and the helmet, right in a very specific spot.
She was intentionally killed.
And I just remember thinking at that point, how far they're going to go to suppress the truth.
And that has continued on.
It's on another level now, like with hundreds of journalists who have been killed.
in Gaza over the last few years three journalists killed who were clearly marked as press in Lebanon just the day before yesterday and for me that says something when they're so intent on suppressing the truth it's a call then for more people to step up and be able to contribute to exposing the truth of what's happening
Yeah, like the last few years really has seen the degradation of international law as we perceived it before the last three years.
Like you have this idea of international laws, a set of rules that we all abide by.
And if a country decides to go rogue, then they're held to account by the rest of the countries.
And that...
process is pretty much non-existent now when we're talking about the Janus Head in Palestine.
There just has been no consequence and there's no accountability and you've got a state who's backed by the US acting with absolute impunity and now you've got the US also just going rogue and attacking countries without consequence.
So I think we're in, I think we are in a new age as far as those things are concerned.
And the primary thing for me really is that in Ireland and in other countries in Europe and in the West, that we're able to do an honest analysis of where we stand in relation to these things, what our responsibility is and why.
what role do we play in holding these actors to account?
Because I think that for all of the marches and the solidarity that we've seen from Ireland, specifically over the last couple of years, that we still have quite a way to go to come to terms with our own responsibility
and what we need to do to fulfill that responsibility.
I'm not talking about the people who are going marching, but I'm talking about on a governmental level, like we haven't done really anything significant with regards to Palestine over the last few years.
So that's an issue.
