Now, the announcement of the grand jury came as a surprise.
Not only because, like you said, it consisted of one man...
That doesn't seem grand to me.
I don't know who George is, but he's got to be real grand.
But also because Connecticut does not require a grand jury before felony charges can be filed.
According to Connecticut lawyer Norman Pattis.
Grand juries in Connecticut are only used for political purposes.
Having a grand jury provides insulation for a prosecutor in a politically sensitive case.
Because the decision to indict is made by a panel of anonymous citizens.
