I try to hold space for uncertainty and nuance.
At the end of the day, I think that the best...
tools we have to fight against grooves and ultra-processed information is our abilities to be comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty.
And so as much as I can, that's what I model.
I guess that's how I fight against it.
Be gentle with yourself.
Realize that not...
not being dogmatic about something is not the same as not doing it or not holding it lightly.
So there's, you don't have to, this is the all or nothing sort of approach.
It's like, well, if it's not this, then it must be that.
Or if it's not, if there's not good evidence of gluten, like I've changed my mind now, so I just need to change my diet, that it doesn't have to be so extreme.
So just, I would say, if people have listened to this point, they're wondering about their own lives, is like, you can just, you can loosen your grip
on some of the beliefs that you feel like are keeping you alive, just loosen your grip on them.
It doesn't mean changing your life.
It doesn't mean believing me.
I'm not really saying anything actually is the truth.
It just means like hold a little bit more lightly.
And I think that even in the act of loosening your grip, like metaphorically, physically, you relax a little.
things don't seem quite so all or nothing.
And so just by loosening your grip a little on the beliefs that are important to you, I think you can find that your soul relaxes in the same way that your body relaxes when you loosen your grip a little bit on what you're holding on to.
