I remember it.
Yeah, he was a central midfielder, but he was a very composed lad on the ball and he loved to get it off the back four.
He loved to, you know, Tony Adams, Steve Bould had it.
He'd go within 10 yards and demand it.
Now, George wasn't having that.
He didn't want that kind of build-up play and he wanted his midfielders to support me or Paul Merson or whoever.
So, he suffered at Arsenal, but he was a very talented player.
He couldn't get in the team.
He only made eight appearances over a couple of years or so.
And he had a really bad back injury as well.
And he ended up actually retiring from football in 1991, I think it was.
And then he actually went back.
He played in Iceland and then he played for Dundee United.
He was a name that cropped up when I think of unfulfilled talent, somebody that could have been a top player.
He's like the Sigurdsson of his time, the Everton player of his time.
He was that kind of figure back in Iceland, got about 65 caps for his country.
And it was a shame it didn't work out for him at Arsenal.
And that, you know, that was down to the gaffer not being his sort.
