Operating earnings are up 18% year on year to $11.35 billion.
Profit, $10.1 billion, more than doubling from the same time a year ago, $4.6 billion.
Yeah.
The story though is always how much cash does Berkshire have?
Because we know for a while now, Buffett's been just continuously putting cash to the side, says that there's no opportunities for him out there at the moment.
That storyline continued.
They've hit a record 397.4 billion US dollars in
cash.
So what's that?
About half a trillion Australian.
And the questions that came out, pretty much, Greg, what are you going to do with it?
And he said, we're going to sit on it because nothing out there is attractive for us at the moment.
If we just look at underlying parts of the business, insurance profit was up 4%.
Their railway business profit was up 13%.
And then across manufacturing services and retail, profit was up 5% as well.
But notably, Ren, as you said, they do not and are not interested in the AI bet.
I'd love to know what drawdown he really wants though, because we've just come out of a 10% drawdown, not enough for Greg.
