And that's going to be, I think, an ongoing theme of conversation for Lionel Messi, for Mascherano, for Inter Miami, for Scaloni, for Argentina.
Argentina in 2026 during the World Cup, I think in his mind will be the priority.
And he is going to do everything that he needs to do in order to be ready.
And Inter Miami and Inter Miami fans are just going to have to deal with it.
When you build everything around Messi and everything that Messi is, and every single deal that you make in each and every one of this game's exhibition, as they may be, they're all around Lionel Messi playing, then we are one hamstring away from everything falling apart.
And it's one hamstring injury away from a 38-year-old player.
then naturally the body begins to break down.
And if he continues to play, and Liz is telling us that he wants to play every single game, and I'm sure he does, well, somebody's going to have to pull him back because the hamstring is going to go and the adductor is going to go and the calf is going to go.
These are the things that happen.
Not only to Lionel Messi, but just to about every other player that has ever existed in the history of mankind.
You get older, you start piling on minutes, and then muscle tissue injuries tend to happen.
That's when I say, once again, go back to my original point.
If the priority is indeed Argentina 2026 in the World Cup,
And for him to be at his best level, then somebody is going to have to have that at the forefront of their decision making.
And that somebody eventually is going to be Lionel Messi.
So while we want to see Lionel Messi play every game, all the time, everywhere, because all the stadiums are going to be packed to watch Lionel Messi, the responsibility is going to be within Lionel Messi to say no.
Today is not the day.
Let me get ready.
Let me be fit.
Let me be healthy.
