at least five, you know, six and so on.
You know, the problem with it is you get a two-inning start, a one-inning start, two and a third, and you're playing 18 in a row, 20 in a row, whatever it is, you're cooked at that point, right?
So I do think there's real value to it.
And you guys saw in 2024 when we let all of MLB and ERA, we used the off days, we moved guys back, we really protected guys and it worked well for us.
It was challenging because we were shuttling guys in and out and putting spot starters in.
And from a roster gymnastics standpoint, that's what we call it, it was tough.
You could only option guys five times a year.
Once you option them, they're down for two weeks.
You don't want to throw a game away.
So someone you call up to make that start, to build in that quote six man, and
If you don't have an off day, you still don't want to feel like you're throwing the game away and they're not going to... If they come up and you think they're only going to go two innings, you've torched your bullpen, right?
Then you have to option them and you're covered.
So it's very challenging with the limits of the roster.
If there were no limits and it's a straight 26 man, I think very doable because you could just go short from a position player standpoint, especially with we have a lot of guys that play every day.
So I'd love to be able to do it.
And I just don't know...
how realistic it is to be able to do it over the course of a season.
And that's why you've seen us.
The alternative is to try to put in spot starters.
And that's been our best attempt to do it and still be able to maintain a roster and all that kind of stuff.
