But, look, obviously years and years ago guys used to do it all the time, and Pat Hankins used to talk about it, and I think it's important.
And I think there's a lot of things we did a long time ago that we've gotten away from as a game that I think โ
we probably should get back to.
Look, I think the days of guys like Goose Gossage going three innings, I think there's value to that.
I think relievers going multiple innings, making sure you're not getting guys up in the bullpen, saving guys, having guys off because their guys are going multiple innings, I think is important.
So we did it a little bit with Max Freed when he first broke in and talking to him.
He told me it was really valuable for him because you don't have time to settle into a game, right?
You're on goal.
You've got to compete.
If you have a five or six-pitch mix, that's not the time that you can kind of just kind of get a feel for all of them.
You've got to decide what's going to work and go and be aggressive.
And he thought it really helped him in his career.
And I just think for a guy like Fuentes specifically, you know, look, he's going to get an opportunity to start.
We think he'll be a good starter.
The tough part is if things don't go well in a world where you're trying to compete and you expect to win and make the postseason, you get a three-inning start.
It just obviously destroys your bullpen and so on.
We're just not in a position to go through some growing pains right now.
He absolutely can help us in the bullpen, be a bulk guy, can go three innings, four innings even.
He did that early in the season.
Short, go for it.
