I've only been to the one in San Francisco.
Okay.
But they have an elevated food offering, good seats.
Is that not the same here?
Yeah, Jules.
AMC rode Icy's and popcorn down to like...
The bottom.
The data is very unsupportive of Jules on this.
Go look at the market cap of the theater companies.
Exactly.
Because you need a unique offering now.
amc to me is the classic experience and i'm with jules you just need popcorn and an icy otherwise we're putting too much emphasis on food like you're there to watch a movie and they have these now they have bowling alley movies you can get wine at the movies but you need a win over home the problem is is now they're they're competing with the home and so to compete with the home you need to have a lot more other than the screen especially because so many movies are just incredibly underwhelming these days
Yeah, but I think it's just a great case study of the theaters not adapting.
Yeah, I think it's a question that is a lot...
Like the answer doesn't spring to mind because it hasn't been solved.
But I think you could have said the same thing about the record labels and music 15, 20 years ago and Spotify figured it out.
And I think there was a golden opportunity that inherently wasn't solved.
Yeah, and I'm always like five minutes away from being like, all right, if this isn't good enough, I'm just going to turn it off.
And in the movie, the threshold to leave a movie is so much higher than the threshold to change the channel.
Yes.
