Israel, on the other hand, believes, well, it hasn't managed to achieve any of its strategic objectives, which is making sure that there are no
attacks inside their northern communities.
The communities in northern Israel also feel terrorized by the amount of attacks that are coming in.
But right now, Israeli troops are occupying several towns and villages in southern Lebanon.
They have taken up position in several areas within southern Lebanon.
They are
embarking on a destruction of southern Lebanon, which has led to whole villages and towns being wiped out and a fifth of the population has been displaced.
So the rhetoric that we're hearing from the Israeli politicians is very much
put in perspective with all this happening around them and the very far right ministers in the Israeli government are talking on what the Lebanese population views as very much a collective punishment approach to the people of
of Lebanon who themselves are very much polarised with some in support of Hezbollah and they call the military group the resistance and remember they are part of, they are in, they are elected officials, Hezbollah politicians within the Lebanese parliament and those who are absolutely furious that Hezbollah has dragged them into this larger picture
and just want to live peaceful lives and try and get back on their feet again, because the country's economy is absolutely broken.
Huge numbers of people are displaced.
It's very difficult to go about normal life in Lebanon, even in
In the capital, you have constant Israeli drones, constant Israeli jets flying overhead.
There have been waves of airstrikes across a whole range of southern Lebanon cities, including the capital of the south, Tyre, where there was a range of strikes all the way through the day, as well as Nabatea.
And in West Bekaa, they are still digging around a residential area which has seen at least 12
killed an entire residential area with waves of at least 10 strikes yesterday and through the night.
They're still digging for at least two children.
They reckon that the death toll there, which at the moment is set at around 12, is almost certainly going to rise.
So the idea that Israel is going to ratchet and escalate these strikes and the lead up to the talks later this week, the first security military talks between Lebanon and Israel, followed by political talks next week, is horrifying to the people of Lebanon.
