The Canadian media say the alert described the suspect as a woman, someone in a dress with brown hair.
Now, that isn't confirmation that it was a woman, but perhaps an indication that in the early stages of this, they might have believed that a woman was responsible, but certainly no confirmation about an identity from the police.
And this is a tiny community.
