De Silva has been on a tear post-All-Star, and he's been one of the reasons the Magic have found their footing lately, winning six in a row.
In 12 games post-All-Star break, he's averaging 13.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists per game on 68% true shooting.
Compare that to 54% true shooting pre-All-Star.
He's been getting way more minutes, more starting opportunities over this recent stretch.
Part of that is Anthony Black's absences.
But he's really taken advantage of it.
This week, he had 23 and 26 points in consecutive games.
The 26 was a career high in this disgusting overtime win against the Wizards, of course, on Thursday.
If you're looking to get a career high right now, the Wizards, they're open for business.
Come on down.
You can do it.
De Silva had 26, seven and two with four steals and two blocks in the game.
And he was one of the main reasons this game didn't become an awful loss for the magic, which again, this went to overtime.
Yeah.
I just remember in his draft.
a lot of Thunder fans wanted him.
And I just wasn't super high on him because he just seemed like one of those wings that theoretically does a little bit of everything, but maybe doesn't do anything at an elite level.
But the upside for those kinds of players is that when it does work, they can be a really valuable fourth, fifth starter, kind of like a Swiss army knife type player who doesn't take anything off the court when they play.
And that vision of De Silva is starting to come into full view over this recent stretch.
And a big part of why it's working is that he's developing into a much more reliable shooter.
