Yeah.
Breaking a record set by Keegan Murray during the 22-23 season.
I can remember covering that on Slammin' Jam a few years ago as it came down to the wire, seeing if he was going to do it.
He eventually broke Donovan Mitchell's record in the 80th game of the season.
He hit five threes in a game against Portland.
And now we're talking about Khan breaking that record in 59 games played.
Forget rookie records.
What we're seeing from Khan Kanipal is rare, period.
He has 209 threes through 59 games.
I looked it up on StatHead.
There are only 15 other players in NBA history, I don't care what year of their career it was, who reached that number through their first 59 games of the season.
And to really put this in perspective,
Klay Thompson, Klay, Splash Brother, one of the greatest shooters of all time.
He only did it once in his career, reaching 209 three-pointers by his 59th game.
I triple-checked that because it sounded so wrong, but it is true.
And Khan is doing that as a rookie at 20 years old.
Those other 15 guys I mentioned, the youngest to ever do it, just hit 209 through your first 59 games.
It was Anthony Edwards last year at age 23.
Khan is 20.
We may very well be watching the first chapter in one of the greatest shooters in League history.
