And in part because of the dire economic situation this year and in recent years.
While Ali was in Tehran, a protest started.
The one you've probably heard about.
It was sparked by the currency plummeting.
Vendors in Tehran's bazaar went on strike because they couldn't sell anything at a profit.
But then he kept talking to more people, people in Tehran.
It seemed to Ali that everyone in the country was fighting corruption, fighting for freedom, for their human rights, and for economic stability.
The regime has had intense protests over human rights for decades.
