There's players and people around the game with a lot to prove and highly motivated to have big seasons and, I guess, deliver results for their teams, particularly in Melbourne, and I'm sure we'll get to that.
But, yeah, you'd never take for granted the fans' engagement and passion for any competition, and the BBL β
and the WBBL are both fan-focused competitions.
They were built with the fans in mind, and we've got to remain as true to that as we can.
So those fans at the moment are at the very least sceptical about privatisation.
Yeah, we understand that.
I think globally the game's going through a pretty seismic change.
That hasn't necessarily hit Australian shores yet, but it's going to, and I think...
The work that we've been doing for a long time now, best part of a year, is to try and set ourselves up and chart a course through that evolution.
And I think inevitably that significant level of change comes with some twists and turns and bumps.
And we've got to continue to do the best job we can to take people on that journey because change is coming for the game and we want to control our destiny on that.
Do you believe in privatisation?
Yeah, I think Todd, our CEO, and the Crick Australia board have been clear that private investment into the game in Australia and bringing private capital into the big bashes is
something we need to really consider.
And I think whether that's to, to enable the BBL to be as strong a competition as it can, but even more importantly, to enable the game to continue to invest right through a whole of game strategy, right through to the grassroots is something we need to strongly look at.
No, definitely not.
I mean, these seasons are going to be strong.
We've got lots to look forward to.
We've got schedules coming out in the coming weeks and
We've got players being signed and lots of exciting things.
