And so the overseas draft has held us in great stead in bringing the right talent in.
We're putting the finishing touches on whether that does or doesn't stay and whatever's right for, for the competition is where we'll land.
Yeah, I think there's the appeal of playing in the BBL is still sky high.
We talk to overseas players and agents all the time.
It's bucket list stuff to come and play in Australia over summer.
So we hit the market with a really strong proposition.
That said, the bigger picture is that we need to be able to be competitive on our salaries for domestic and overseas players.
That's part of the change happening internationally.
In the game that the labor market, I guess, for the elite end of the cricket talent is getting really competitive.
So we'll be out there fighting hard.
Our clubs are really ambitious on the short term.
I think we'll be in good shape this year, but it's part of our longer term.
I guess, challenge or opportunity is how do we address that market in a way that makes the BBL stay in the top tier of leagues?
Well, that's part of the final part of whether we keep the overseas player draft and how we model that.
Right now,
We have a salary cap, we have list rules and the players will be able to attack, I guess, those salary caps with their agents, with their contracts.
I think one of the key objectives for us is to be able to bring more money into the salary cap in the future so that, importantly, not only do the best overseas players want to come and play in the BBL, but our best local Australian players and particularly the stars that really underpin our competition get paid what they're worth, not just compared to overseas players, but compared to the opportunities that are present in
around the world, which are growing rapidly and increasingly it's hard for us to keep pace with that in the current model.
Yeah, I mean, we have an MOU with the players that has a revenue share agreement in it, and that has an allocation towards the BBL salary cap.
It's been competitive.
