And on the plus side, maybe you spent time with family and friends.
So positive reappraisal is all about actively seeking the silver lining rather than letting kind of negative emotions take over.
And the evidence shows that this can lead to less anxiety, more positive feelings.
And tomorrow is a new day.
You can do better tomorrow.
The study included nearly 28,000 people who were in their late 50s when the study began.
They were surveyed about their eating habits, and after about 25 years of follow-up, it turned out higher intake of high-fat cheese was associated with a slightly lower risk of dementia.
However, scientists who reviewed the data say this association does not prove that high-fat cheese protects the brain.
Those who consumed about an ounce and a half of cheese or more per day indicated
had about a 13% lower risk, which could be explained by chance.
Also, researchers only captured a snapshot of participants' dietary habits.
Given the risk of dementia is determined by many factors, from genes to lifestyle habits, scientists warn against reading too much into the findings.
Women who were in the habit of walking about two miles a few times a week had a 27% lower risk of heart disease compared to inactive peers.
And those who hit this target four times a week reduced the risk of premature death by about 40 percent.
It did not matter if the women took the steps all at once or sporadic steps throughout the day.
Study author Rick Hamaya of Mass General Brigham says people have heard so much about 10,000 steps per day, but among older women, 4,000 was enough.
This fits with prior research that shows more is better, but the benefits of physical activity begin with the first step.
