So many of these women were just forgotten by everyone, including their own families. And So I looked at them and I thought, God, I am so lucky. And I realized very quickly that I was, especially after a year in prison, and by that time I was fluent in Italian, I was able to function effectively. as a translator. But, you know, there was a couple of Chinese women that were in there at one point and I was translating for them by like taking I just happened to have this English to Chinese dictionary because I'm a language nerd there because there were no translators. I would write their letters. Yeah, their little love letters. And sometimes they got a little frisky with the love letter. They would just dictate to me and I would write down.
